Noah Goldstein, MD - Psychiatry and Psychotherapy
My office is located in a comfortable and discreet setting in downtown Durham, NC, just a few blocks from Duke's East Campus. The office is easily accessible from from Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Research Triangle Park, Raleigh, and the surrounding areas.
Clinic hours are from 8AM-5PM on weekdays and the office is closed on weekends and holidays. If you need to reach me outside of regular business hours, please call the main office line and leave a confidential voicemail, as this line is periodically monitored on evenings, weekends and holidays.
If you are having an emergency and you are unable to reach me promptly, please do not delay mobilization of emergency services while you await my return call. Instead, call 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency department as soon as possible.
For your convenience (and in recognition of the fact that in the 21st century, more and more individuals prefer not to talk by phone), I can be reached by email and/or text message, but please be aware that emails and text messages are not continuously monitored and should never be used to communicate any urgent or time-sensitive information. There are also significant limitations to the security and confidentialy of these types of electronic communications (see below).
Communication via text message, email, or other electronic media is inherently less secure than phone, fax, or face-to-face communication. Electronic communications may be easily intercepted and viewed by parties other than the intended recipient and may also be cached on third-party servers, and so there are significant limitations to my ability to control the handling of any information transmitted in this manner. Despite my commitment to strict confidentiality and careful privacy practices, I cannot guarantee the privacy of email or text message communications. I use HIPAA-compliant email and phone services, but this does not change the fundamental privacy issues with text message or email. If you prefer to communicate via email or text message, I will honor your preference, but I would recommend you minimize the use of sensitive personal information that you would not want to be made publically available. I provide this information so you can make an informed choice about how you'd like to contact me. Please consider using phone/voicemail, fax, or secure patient portal for any communications that contain sensitive personal information.
